Rainy Days & Fountain Pens
Oh the poetic brooding of a rainy day.
I am trying out my new fountain pen with the new ink. The kind of situation where there is old ink left in the ink and the new ink has yet to flow through. If my writing changes colour, will the mood change, too? Like a sort of mood ring? Going from calm blue ink to a confused purple and finally an angsty red?
Mood rings promised to tell you how you felt, but it was the other way around for me. If I was feeling calm but the colour of the mood ring told me I was angry, I’d get irked. And vice versa.
This is the Kakuno Fountain Pen by Pilot. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I was walking along the lake this morning. Cold wind but warm sun. The question of what to wear. Hot cold hot cold. The answer is: Yes. The weather itself could do with a mood ring.
It’s April and not one blossom on the trees here yet. I have been relying on my old photos of Jardin des Plantes in Paris. I regarded that garden as “for the people” as in for the people who lived there. It doesn’t often make it onto the Top 10 Lists of Paris and is mercifully overlooked by the throngs of tourists. The definition of Throng is “a large, densely packed crowd of people or animals. The answer is once again: Yes.
I loved walking down the middle of the tree-lined path and seeing the slivers of sun peeking through the tops of the trees. Heaven poking through. There it is!

I’ve been sending out the art from a little giveaway this month. Those who are in my mail club can win an original painting. I’ve been adding in ephemera and creating a kind of joyful package full of fun things.
P.S. Join Cottage Letters and receive a monthly letter in the mail, with art and occasional extras… like for instance the mail packages, which were so fun I might keep rolling with it. A sneak peak at April…
