I have been wracking my brain on what to get my mom for Mother’s Day. So have a bunch of Etsy shoppers. Many emailed asking if I had a Mother’s Day Special. I hadn’t because I was too preoccupied with what to get my own mom on her special day… and she already gets the letters. So here it is:
Why? Because I myself get incensed by post office rates so I bet you do, too, especially if you live in Australia. Holy Lord if you live in Australia now is the time to subscribe to the letters. Offer ends May 10th.
Speaking of Australia…
Paris Letters has a new gorgeous cover in Australia. Same art, new nice things said by people who have great taste.
And other big news, which delights me to no end, one of my Paris Letters was featured in an Oxford University text book!
And this handsome fella has graced the very same pages:
Which makes me and Jamie Oliver besties.
Plus, I just got word that Paris Letters will be translated into Bulgarian, and a few weeks ago I found out it was to be translated into Complex Chinese and Malaysian.
And all this happened while I was on the road.
The lovely Christophe and I went on a two week road trip through the USA. Down the west coast to Los Angeles, over to Vegas, up through Utah and Montana, and back to Calgary. Sun, surf, gas station coffee. One of the beaches captivated me most of all.
A magical beach that inspired this month’s Travel Letter.
Sometimes you get the colour right the first time. But on the wrong paper. C’est la vie.
Christophe did most of the driving. I did most of the navigating. There were a few tense moments at the beginning when we realized East in French is Est and it sounds a lot like West in English. So there was some panic until we chose one language for navigating. Such is the struggle with couples who speak Franglais. While I sat in the passenger seat navigating “gauche, droite, tout droit” I took notes and thought. And pondered. And wondered. And in the quiet moments in between I came up with…
The sequel to Paris Letters.
So that’s happening.
