Welcome back to another episode of The Prosperous Heart. This is Week 3 and the topic is Trusting.
As in trusting the benevolent universe.
I knew in a course about prosperity we’d have to do a gratitude list or journal. These irk me. Just another list. I did it and didn’t feel exactly an Ah Ha moment coming on.
Ah you win some, you lose some.
But one thing did work. Walking.
In The Prosperous Heart course, a 12 week course by Julia Cameron, we must go for at least 2 twenty minute walks a week. Alone. No music. Just walking with self. Now I’m a big walker generally. I zigzagged up and down Europe on the Heel-Toe Express for four years. But that was all in temperate times.
It’s winter here. And cold.
So in Week 3 I didn’t want to walk. AT ALL. But I just finished Sonia Choquette‘s book Walking Home.
Her book was on the same New York Times Best Seller list as mine… totally cool moment as I’ve adored her since reading her gorgeous Your Heart’s Desire. Walking Home details her 500-mile walk across the Camino de Santiago. After reading about her blisters and the rain and the heat I thought…
This is my Camino.
It’s not 500 miles and it’s not Spain, but it’s my path now. It’s never bad weather, just bad gear. Lace up cupcake. We’re going for a walk.
It’s a little thing but the benevolent universe may have provided me with this book in the time I needed extra motivation, and that made me grateful, which I suppose is what Week 3 is about.
