Brunch is not an easy meal to find in Paris. I think this is true for two reasons: 1) eggs aren’t considered a breakfast food 2) filling up on breakfast could ruin filling up on lunch. But on occasion, it’s nice to indulge so off I went to Fouquet’s Barrière Hotel to check out their new Sunday Brunch. It’s located on the swanky corner of Avenue George V and Avenue des Champs-Elysees in Paris.
The Sunday Brunch offers a buffet with grilled meats, local specialties, gluten-free options, Mediterranean dishes and delectable desserts. Knowing this, I realized I would have to make sure my savories didn’t ruin my dessert. Small dollops and samples only.
In some cases, I couldn’t tell the difference between the meal and the dessert.
The savories were very savory.
The champignons poêlés were particularly wonderful.
Believe it or not, then came dessert.
And all this in a tranquil garden setting on the first floor (which is the second floor where I come from).
Verdict: I ruined my appetite for lunch and dinner but didn’t care. It was worth it.
